What is this site?

All Hands On Deck is one part journal, one part wiki.

Topics covered include sailing, software, and the metagame of learning new things and getting things done.

How is it a journal?

First and foremost, I plan to write for myself. This is a space for me to get my thoughts on paper, explore new ideas, think out loud, and work in public. It will often be brief, informal, and unorganized.

To the extent that you're interested, it may give you a window into what I'm working on and what ideas are bouncing around my head.

I plan to publish something daily.

How is it a wiki?

Where possible, I'd like the things I write to be helpful to others.

I want some portion of my posts to be valuable as standalone resources that help someone learn about something new or solve some problem they have.

Why is everything a question?

That's how I like to think. I'll write about it sometime.

This is all a work-in-progress. Let's not make perfect the enemy of good.
